New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) 'Generation Leaps' seem to be fast becoming the norm on television with an increasing number of weekly and daily shows going for 'fast forward' leap in a bid to keep the audience interest alive.
Beginning this Wednesday, 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki', one of the most popular prime time soaps on television, has taken another 18 year leap, following close on the heels of close on the heels of 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', 'Kasauti Zindagi Ki', 'Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand' and 'Kum Kum'.
This is the first time that the celebrated fashion designer has associated himself with designing the wardrobe for a television serial or character.
According to the story of the show post-generation leap, Parvati, after spending many years in jail on charges of murder of Krishna and her husband Om and thereafter several years in Benares, comes back to Mumbai. Parvati, who has always been the Sita, now takes on the teachings of the Bhagwad Gita as she prepares to fight her own to win back her own. "Apno ke liye, apno ke khilaf". It is a side of Parvati that one has never seen before, as she dons a modern persona, who will employ every means to defeat her enemies.
Post-generation leap, 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' will witness the entry of four new characters representing the Generation Next.
Entering the family of 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' will be four new characters Mythili, Pragati, Sanskar and Adi.
While Sanskar is the son of Parvati's daughter Shruti, Mythili is the daughter of Parvati's accountant, Adi is Shikhar's son and Pragati is the daughter of Gunn.
For 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki', it is the second generation leap, the first having been done a few years ago when Shruti (Om-Parvati's daughter), Krishna (Kamal-Nivedita's son) and Monalika Avantika-Ajay's daughter) took centre stage.
However, like the previous generational leap which witnessed Parvati continuing to hold centrestage despite the entry of the new generation of Shruti, Krishna and Monalika, her character will continue to be the central point of the serial after the latest makeover too.
