Patiala, Nov 12 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) general secretary Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the probe conducted by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau into the Ludhiana City Centre scam has vindicated the stand taken by them the enquiry.

Talking to mediapersons here Mr Badal said, ''We have raised certain issues which were overlooked by the Punjab Government before awarding the contract of City Centre to Today Homes and Infrastructure Private Limited.'' He disclosed that he possessed a copy of the primary report of the Vigilance Bureau, which was submitted to Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

Mr Badal said when this issue was exposed by the media, the SAD had issued an advertisement on it emplaining the facts.

He said the report also said that there was neither check on unauthorized construction nor on the unauthorised sale of space.

The interest of Ludhiana Improvement Trust and the government was not checked by the Trust, while awarding the contract and allowing the project to carry on, said Mr Sukhbir.

He said demanded why the Vigilance Bureau maintained silence on Punjab Chief Minister and Local Body Minister Jagjit Singh role and did not indict them.

He alleged that Paramjit Singh Sibia was a small fish and Vigilance should have not worked under pressure from the government to expose the real culprit.

While welcoming the inquiry by the Principal Secretary of Information and Public Relations showing a big crowd by tempering with the pictures, he demanded registration of a case under section 420 of the IPC against Punjab Chief Minister's Media Advisor BIS Chahal, who had allegedly doctored the pictures of Vikas Yatra of Capt Amarinder Singh in which they had shown huge crowd by super imposing image of a gathering in government release advertisements.
