The ACTIP along with 29 organisations had called a 24 hour strike beginning from 6 hrs yesterday till 6 hrs today to protest against the construction of Tipaimukh dam.
The strike had affected life and traffic in the state and the inter state bus service were also cancelled. Many vehicles were even damaged during the strike.
However, no other major incident was reported and the bus services have also resumed, police said.
The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), which would be constructing the dam has flouted the rules and no public hearing on the issue was done in the state so far, the ACTIP alleged.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said the government would go ahead with the project.
The ACTIP has threatened to intensify the stir against the project.
