Launched under the brand name F2F (Fabric to Fashion) by filmstars Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao, the outlet will sell all brands of Siyaram's including fabric brands like J Hampstead, Mistair, Featherz, Miniature and Zanneti and readymade brand MSD.
Talking to mediapersons on the occasion, Ramesh Poddar, Siyaram's MD and Vice Chairman, said the company would open 100-125 such outlets in the next 12-18 months.
''This F2F outlet is a turning point in the history of Siyaram's as it marks our foray into specialised retail,'' he added.
Siyaram's strategy is to offer all options of clothing under one roof and yet be different from the multitude of retail stores, that are mushrooming across the country, Mr Poddar informed.
F2F will house the latest in design trends, custom made clothing, various types of fabrics and the entire range of readymades and accessories from MSD brand comprising shirts, trousers, semi formals, evening wear, casuals and club wear range.
Siyaram's is the market leader in man-made fibre with a reputation for ushering in the latest fashion trends. It is one of the largest players in the market and has tremendous brand equity.
''Since, we also manufacture fabrics, getting into retailing was the logical diversification for us providing forward integration. We are targetting the middle class and upwards for our range of readymade garments,'' he later told UNI.
The company is also planning to launch a jeans brand soon, besides readymade suits.
Siyaram's net turnover and other income for the year ended March 31, 2006, was over Rs 400 crore compared to Rs 306 crore in the previous fiscal.
