Haryana Legal Services Authority Member Secretary Shekhar Dhawan said here today that out of these cases, 24 pertaining to death or injury arising out of vehicular accidents under the MACT Act were settled. Simultaneously, 816 cases pertaining to other categories of crimes, like civil, petty criminal, bank loan cases at pre-litigative as well as pending were also settled.
He revealed that next Lok Adalats would be held at Narnaul, Kaithal, Mohindergarh, Jagadhari and rural Lok Adalat at Hisar on November 18 for settling various cases at pre-litigative as well as pending in the courts.
Mr Dhawan said that the Lok Adalat was the most effective medium of alternate dispute resolution mechanism in India and the justice delivery system under the mechanism of Lok Adalats were simple, speedy and inexpensive.
