In his inaugural address to a large congregation at the three-day 59th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam, Baba Ji said today the world is divided by religion, caste, colour and creed. All the negative tendencies like jealousy, hatred and violence have replaced the positive virtues like love, peace, tolerance and universal brotherhood.
''For the development of positive virtues in the human being, it is necessary that we must realise the Supreme Truth - the God. We must realise that no religion preaches hatred and jealousy and that all religions promote unity, peace and brotherhood,'' he said.
Earlier, Delhi Mayor Farhad Suri, who was also present on the occasion, also said that though there are different religions or paths there is only one God. "If we want to make this world a better place to live, we should be content with our inner self, our families, neighbours and this individual action will promote peace." Lakhs of people from India and abroad have come to participate in the samagam.
