He was addressing a Mammoth gathering at function organisded by the Joint Action Committee of Retrenched and Dismissed employees in the premises of Jat High school Kaithal.
Mr.Hooda said Haryana Government was committed to the uplift of the farmers and had taken a number of decisions in their interest.He also announced that the rate of medium sugarcane varietry had been increased from Rs.123 to 128 per quintal.
He said during one and a half years of his Government the total enhancement of Rs.21 per quintal had been given to the farmers while during the regime of the previous Government only Rs.7 per quintal increase in sugarcane prices was given.
He said Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Sonepat and Yamunanagnar are the main sugarcane growing areas and the decisions of hiking the prices of sugarcane would benefit the farmers of these areas in particular and the sugarcane grower of the state in general.
