Murasoli Maran's family donates books to Loyola College

Chennai, Nov 11 (UNI) In a noble gesture, family members of late Union Minister Murasoli Maran, today donated more than 10,000 books, used by him to the Loyola College.

Ms Mallika Maran, wife of the late leader donated the books, in gratitude to the college, where her sons, Union Minister Dayananidhi Maran and Sun TV properitor Kalanidhi Maran had studied.

The books in various subjects, including Politics, Economics and Literature were showcased in a separate 2000 sq ft Research liberary, named after Murasoli Maran in the college.

Mr Dayanidhi Maran inaugurated the library this evening at a simple function. The family members bore the building cost of the library.

A voracious reader, Mr Murasoli Maran had the habit of buying books whichever country he visited and had a collection of more than 10,000 books at his house.
