The visitors, who opted to bat first, scored a mammoth 406/9 declared in the first innings on the opening day yesterday throwing a big task for the hosts.
For Bengal, Manoj Tewary scored a double century (214), P Mukherjee 101 not out and Tushar Saha made 116.
But the hosts could manage to score only 145 runs and were forced to follow on. Anshul Lamba (47) and Tushar Saha (34) made some resepctable runs for Tripura.
In the second innings, Tripura were all out for only 127 runs.
For Bengal, Amit Banerjee captured three wickets while Debabrata Paul, Avik Chowdhury and Priyankar Mukherjee claimed two wicket each.
Tripura earned nine points so far and remained in second spot after Bengal's total 14 points.
