Yuvraj's injury to be reassessed on November 10: BCCI

Mumbai, Nov 7 (UNI) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today rubbished reports which have stated that middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh might be ruled out of the World Cup, saying that the status of the injury of the southpaw remains unchanged and his fitness would be reassessed as scheduled on November 10.

BCCI Chief Administrative Officer Professor Ratnakar Shetty said here that a decision on when the middle-order batsman would resume action would be made only after the fitness test is conducted.

''As far as I know, his fitness test would be held on the date fixed earlier. There is no change in that regard,'' Mr Shetty said.

Yuvraj injured his left knee while playing kho-kho on the eve of India's crucial Champions Trophy match against Australia on October 29. An MRI scan later revealed a tear in the cruciate ligament and bruises in the knee joint.

The Punjab batsman has been ruled out of action for two weeks and will miss the one-day series during India's tour of South Africa starting November 13.
