Tokyo stocks open higher on Wall St, Toyota gains

TOKYO, Nov 7 (Reuters) Japan's Nikkei average opened up 0.82 percent on Tuesday as investors bought Canon Inc. and other blue-chip stocks following a rally on Wall Street.

As of 0002 GMT, the Nikkei was up 133.48 points at 16,498.74, extending a 0.09 percent rise in the previous session. The broader TOPIX index gained 0.73 percent to 1,628.54.

Office equipment and digital camera giant Canon rose 1.11 percent to 6,400 yen while Toyota Motor Corp. gained 1.1 percent to 7,110 yen after Credit Suisse raised its price target on the automaker by 21 percent.
