Tension follows bandit's arrest

Morena, MP, Nov 7 (UNI) Tension prevailed at this district's Porsa township after a bandh was called to protest today's arrest of a member of dacoit chieftain Jagjivan Parihar's gang.

Aditya Tomar alias Jantri, who carried a reward of Rs 15,000, was apprehended during an encounter in Bhind district. Some of his supporters damaged a bank and also the vehicle of Porsa's Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) Rakesh Sengar. A sizeable police force has been rushed to the township.

''Normalcy has been restored. Tomar stands accused in dozens of cases including murder, abduction and loot in this state and neighbouring Uttar Pradesh,'' said Additional Superintendent of Police Rakesh Pratap Singh.

NGO to move court against book fair in maidan

'Govt to cut fuel prices after studying scenario'

New Delhi, Nov 7: Petroleum Minister Murli Deora today said the global fuel scenario is under close examination and any decision to cut domestic prices of kerosene, LPG and petrol would be taken only after this scrutiny.Mr Deora said the government is examining each form of fuel separately for any cut in prices, while informing that LPG and kerosene form 66 per cent of the total petroleum products. India to sign labour agreement with Gulf nations

New Delhi, Nov 7: Amid reports of cheating and harassment of migrant workers abroad, India has been negotiating with major labour receiving countries to enter into a bilateral labour agreement or Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in the interest of promotion of overseas employment of Indian workers and protection of their rights.''Bilateral agreements formalise government-to-government engagement and can facilitate better management of international migration as an orderly and humane process aimed at benefiting both countries apart from the emigrants,'' Overseas.....
