Siddaramaiah welcomes Election Commission decision on election date

Mysore, Nov 7 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress Leader Siddaramiah today welcomed the decision of the Election Commission to hold by-election to Chamundeswari Assembly constitutency, on December Four.

Mr Siddaramiah, who has already been named as Congress candidate for the seat resigned by him after quitting Janata Dal (Secular) to join Congress, has already began his campaign.

Talking to UNI he said that the ''election date was appropriate since harvesting of paddy starts from January. He had requested the Elections Commission in this regard to hold elections earlier to harvesting as farmers would be busy and not able to cast their votes during the polling.'' UNI BSP MSP VA GC2133

Congress demands white paper on central scheme implementation
