Reebok poised for 50 per cent growth in retail business

Kolkata, Nov 7(UNI) Reebok India, which is gearing for 50 per cent growth in business within the next few years, plans to open about 700 exclusive retail stores in India by 2010 to take their total number to 1,100.

Announcing this Reebok India Managing Direcor Subhinder Singh Prem here today said at present the total number of Reebok Stores in the country was around 350 including some even in Tier two cities.

Mr Singh, who was present at the opening of Reebok India first large format stores in the city yesterday, said in the wake of a huge growth potential of their products across the country they were planning to open at least 30 per cent of their new stores in smaller cities and towns.

Elaborating his plan for the large format stores, where the entire Reebok collection would be made available under one roof, Mr Singh said apart from having a wide range of products of running categories there would be different sections for fitness equipment for both men and women.

Consumers could also choose from a wide variety of leather and customised products and could even place their own design for having designer and exclusive shoes, Mr Singh informed.

To a query, he said Reebok was planning to bring out at least 25 new models in footwear and six new models in accesories every month catering to diversified demands from customers.

At present Reebok India enjoyed about 50 per cent marketshare in sportswear segments, Mr Singh claimed and said he was also planning to double Reebok's natiwide dealers outlets from the present numbering around 2500.

After Kolkata, a similar large format store would come up in Hyderabad within the next few days, Mr Singh said.
