Natonal Thalassemia Conference from Nov 11

New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) The fifth Natonal Thalassemia Conference will be held here from November 11 to 12.

Organised by the National Thalassemia Welfare Society in association with the Department of Pediatrics, Maulana Azad Medical College and AIIMS Haematology Department, the conference is aimed at creating awareness about Thalassemia.

The conference will be followed by a workshop on November 13 to provide training to medical professionals dealing with Thalassemia patients.

Over 200 doctors and patients are expected to attend the conference.

Police rounds up 12 persons for collecting money illegally

Kochi, Nov 7 (UNI) Police today rounded up 12 people for possessing illegal receipts for collecting money unauthorisedly from trucks and trailers at the Port here. This follows the government's decision at a meeting yesterday, headed by State Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem and Labour Minister P K Gurudasan to stop all illegal collection of money from today. Police said a strong police force, with the help of CISF was deployed to monitor the port.....

HC tells govt to prepare policy note on trafficking

Chennai, Nov 7(UNI) Madras High Court today directed the Tamil Nadu government to prepare a perspective policy note on immoral trafficking of women and children in consultation with a state-level coordination committee. Admissibility of Janardhana Reddy's petitions: Hearing adjourned

Bangalore, Nov 7 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today adjourned hearing on the admissibility of two petitions, filed by suspended BJP Legislator Janardhana Reddy, seeking quashing of defamation proceedings initiated against him by the State Government in the sessions court here. Mr Justice Kabbin posted the petitions for further hearing.
