MP Assy passes bills

Bhopal, Nov 7 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Assembly today passed the Maharishi Panini Sanskrit University Bill 2006 by voice vote.

An opposition-sponsored amendment proposal for making Rewa the varsity's headquarters, instead of the ancient temple town Ujjain, was defeated by 58 votes to eight.

Another bill for enhancing court fees was also passed.

Sambalpur, Nov 7 (UNI) Tension prevailed inside the SMC Power Plant at Hirma following the death of a worker inside the factory premises today. Police said one Nagar Bariha (30) working in SMC power Limited died this afternoon following an accident inside the factory. Bariha fell from a tower and died. Bhavnagar, Gujarat, Nov 7 (UNI) Four persons were killed in different parts of Gujarat after being struck by lightning during the last 24 hours. According to reports reaching here, a woman farm labourer, Vasantben Ravjibhai Koli (40) was killed while Aminaben Yunushbhai Ghanchi (30) was seriously injured after being struck by lightning at Mota Khutvada village in Mahuva taluka of Bhavnagar district. A 25-year-old youth, Nareshbhai Valjibhai Ladumore, was also killed after being struck.....
