Kyndiah appeals to ULFA for dialogue

Shillong, Nov 7(UNI) Condemning the twin blasts in Guwahati, Union Minister in-charge of Tribal Affairs P R Kyndiah said the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) should come to the negotiating table instead of "slaughtering" innocent people.

Terming the blast as an act of cowardice, Mr Kyndiah told UNI here that violence cannot solve any of the ULFA problems.

''If NSCN (IM), the mother of all the insurgents, could come forward for peace- talks, what is the problem with the ULFA leaders?'' the Minister said.

He stated that the Asom-based militant outfit which is fighting for "Sunor Asom" now for nearly two decades should come forward for direct peace-talks in order to give peace a chance.
