Jenil bags Jimmy George Foundation award

Kozhikode, Nov 7 (UNI) Asian Rowing silver medallist and Arjuna awardee Jenil Krishnan has been chosen for the Jimmy George Foundation (JGF) award 2006.

The award, carrying a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and plaque, would be presented to him at a function at Peravoor in Kannur district on December 26, Managing Trustee Sebastian George told newspersons here today.

Sprint queen P T Usha, athletes Shiny Wilson and K Saramma, Volleyball players Cyril C Valloor K Udayakumar, footballers C V Pappachan and I M Vijayan were some of the JGF award winners earlier, Mr George added.

BCCI not to make Pawar's 'humiliation' an issue

Islamabad, Nov 7 (UNI) India's Rohan Bopanna and Mustafa Ghouse overcame stiff resistance from Pakistani pair of Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Aqeel Khan to win the first leg of the Indo-Pak tennis series 2-1 here today.
