India should attract more US BPO companies: Rafiq Doassani

Hyderabad, Nov 7 (UNI) As USA and other developed countries are relocating back-office services to other countries, India should allow foreign Business Process Offshoring (BPO) companies to operate from the India, according to Stanford University Asia-Pacific Center Head Prof Rafiq Doassani.

Speaking at the plenary session "Looking Ahead:Opportunities and Challenges in ICT here, Entrepreneurship" at the second Global Forum on Business Incubation today, he said allow entry to foreign BPO companies and India could take full advantage of the companies in the USA, which were outsourcing operations.

Japanese Encephalitis toll mounts to 320

Gorakhpur, Nov 7 (UNI) The deadly vector-borne Japanese Encephalitis (JE) continued to kill unabated in eastern Uttar Pradesh with the toll mounting to 320, following six more deaths in the last 24 hrs. Joint director health Dr Umakant Prasad said 1,683 JE patients had been admitted at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College here. Almost 80 patients including 18 fresh cases are still under treatment. The JE patients belong to Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Deoria, Kushinagar,.....

Terror attacks on hydropower plants haunt Russia

Moscow, Nov 7 (UNI) Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) today said militants were planning terror attacks on the hydropower plants in thecountry's southern region. ''The anti-terrorist committee has information about terrorist masterminds planning to launch attacks on hydropower facilities in the Ryazan and Saratov regions, and in Daghestan,'' head of the FSB (earlier KGB) General Nikolai Patrushev said at the 5th meeting of the anti-terrorist committee.
