Indefinite curfew imposed in Kamptee

Nagpur, Nov 7 (UNI) Indefinite curfew was imposed in Kamptee, about 15 km from here, early this morning after an irate mob ransacked the police station and torched at least two police vehicles and damaged several others late last night.

Earlier, police fired in the air to disperse the angry mob which resorted to violence, protesting against the massacre of four members of a dalit family by the Khairlanji villagers in Bhandara district recently. Surekha Bhotmange (44), her sons Roshan (23) and Sudhir (21), and daughter Priyanka (18) were killed by a mob in the village late September 30 night over a land dispute.

The police had resorted to a lathi-charge and burst teargas shells to control the unruly mob. Later, the police squad fired in the air to disperse the mob, official sources said.

Artists assemble at Bodh Gaya to paint peace messages

Eighteen injured in road accident

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 7: Eighteen people, including eleven women, were injured when a State Transport Corpoation bus carrying them capsized at Maanpidimangalam village near here today.Police said the accident occurred when the driver of the bus, while attempting to overtake another bus, lost control over the vehicle. The bus was proceeding to Chathiram bus stand from Therkku Sithambur.The injured, who were trapped inside the bus, were rescued by the local residents.All the injured, including three school.....
