Floral tributes paid to Jawan

Visakhapatnam, Nov 9 (UNI) Floral tributes were paid to the mortal remains of Jawan B Jayaram Bachala brought to Naval Air Station, INS Dega here today.

Mr Bachala died during operation Meghdoot on 'Siachen Glacier' a few days ago. The body was brought by an Indian Airlines flight from Delhi and handed over to his relatives.

Wreaths were placed and full state honours were given to the mortal remains of the Jawan. A ceremonial Guard of honour by the navy was also performed, sounding the last post, followed by two minutes silence.

Mr Jayaram (23) was a native of Batsakavanipeta in Vajrapukotturu mandal of Srikakulam District of Andhra Pradesh.

Eastern Naval Command Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief and Vice-Admiral A K Singh also placed wreaths on the body.

Single Window Act to be amended: Industries Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 7 (UNI) The Single Window Act in Kerala will soon be amended to provide immediate clearance for starting industries, State Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem said today. Lalu's final argument concludes in DA case

Patna, Nov 7 (UNI) The on going final argument of railway minister Lalu Prasad and his wife Ms Rabri Devi concluded in disproportionate assets(DA) case before a special court here today. While concluding the final argument in the case, counsel of the political couple, Rana Pratap Singh said that sanction for prosecution granted by the Governor against Mr Prasad was not valid and legal. Inspector ends life

Villupuram, Nov 7 (UNI) A 55-year old Inspector of Police-- attached to Tirukoilur Circle, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver, at his office at Tirukoilur near here today. Police said the official Ananthanarayanan had assumed office following his transfer from Chennai only a few months back. On information, top police officials rushed to the spot and removed the body for post mortem. Police said investigation was under way to unravel.....
