Engineering student commits suicide

Chennai, Nov 7: A-23 year old first year post-graduate engineering student of the Anna University allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in suburban Pazhavanthangal early today.

Police said the student, N Durkesh, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, was living with three other co-students. He was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

Acting on the information, police rushed to the spot and removed the body for post-martem. An investigation was underway, police added.

Satna, MP, Nov 6 (UNI) A dacoit, carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head, was arrested during a two-hour-long encounter with Thokia dacoit gang near Moni Baba ashram at Mohamgarh in this district, police said today. Tiruchirapalli, Nov 7: Eighteen people, including eleven women, were injured when a State Transport Corpoation bus carrying them capsized at Maanpidimangalam village near here today.Police said the accident occurred when the driver of the bus, while attempting to overtake another bus, lost control over the vehicle.
