Australia to probe into rude behaviour by Ponting

Sydney, Nov 7 (UNI) After Ricky Ponting and his men did some more harm to the side's already rude and arrogant image in the Champions Trophy prize distribution ceremony, Cricket Australia has decided to probe into the matter.

Hardly graceful even in their triumph, Ponting's teammates -- especially the captain himself and his pal Damien Martyn -- pushed BCCI President and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar in the presentation dais after they had won the elusive title.

Slated for the rude behaviour, Cricket Australia spokesman Peter Young was quoted as saying by Australian Associated Press that CA would investigate the issue in the coming days.

The CA officials, however, tried to defend the cricketers, saying the players were thrilled to have won the tournament that had eluded them so far.

''I do know the Australian players were very excited to win the trophy.

''It is a bit of a holy grail because it was the only trophy in world cricket they had not won,'' he added.
