Admissibility of Janardhana Reddy's petitions: Hearing adjourned

Bangalore, Nov 7 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today adjourned hearing on the admissibility of two petitions, filed by suspended BJP Legislator Janardhana Reddy, seeking quashing of defamation proceedings initiated against him by the State Government in the sessions court here.

Mr Justice Kabbin posted the petitions for further hearing.

Defamation proceedings had been initiated against Mr Reddy for levelling serious bribery allegations against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Home Minister M P Prakash and Forests Minister C Chennigappa. Mr Reddy had accused the Ministers of taking a bribe of Rs 150 crore from the mining lobby in Bellary to allow illegal mining.

On the defamation case filed by Special Public Prosecutor C H Hanumantharappa and Deputy Director of Prosecution K Janardana, the sessions court had ordered registering of the case and directed issuance of summons to the petitioner.

Pondy Govt to start varsity: Rangasamy

Body of one of five missing fishermen identified

Chennai, Nov 7 (UNI) The body of one of the five missing fishermen of Kasimedu area in the city was identified as Veerappan today even as search for the others was on. The body of Veerappan was washed ashore near Chennai port on October 31. Police recovered the same and kept it in the mortuary of Government Stanley hospital here, as unclaimed. The family members of the missing fishermen had been visiting all mortuaries.....

Rathwa inaugurates new interlocking system at Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Nov 7 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Railways Naranbhai Rathwa today inaugurated a new automatic interlocking system here. With this new system, the railway officials can divert any train to any of the 12 platforms that may be vacant with ease. This means that there would not be a need to wait for the train to reach a scheduled platform to fall vacant. Effectively, all the incoming trains from Maninagar will now take.....
