7 killed as truck overturns

Rajkot, Nov 7 (UNI) Seven persons were killed and several others injured when the truck in which they were travelling, overturned near Ambardi village in Amreli district today.

Amreli deputy superintendent of police A M Jamsa told UNI that the incident occurred around 1600 hrs today. Among the deceased were five women and two minor girls. Their identity, however, is yet to be established.

The mishap occurred when the driver of the ill-fated truck, laden with the fertiliser bags, lost control over the wheel while negotiating a sharp bend. There were around 22 passengers in the truck, most of them labourers.

The truck was proceeding towards Rajula from Savarkundla when the accident occurred. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.

One killed by speeding car

Hyderabad, Nov 7 (UNI) One person was killed and three seriously injured in an accident near the State Secretariat in the city today. Police said a speeding car proceeding from Lakdikapul towards the Secretariat hit the four persons when they were crossing the road. The injured were shifted to the Osmania General Hospital. ONGC teams up with Hindujas for LNG and exploration

New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) and Hinduja Group, today said they would jointly pursue global opportunities in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and linked Expoloration and Production (E&P) business in oil. The collaboration will leverage the E&P expertise of ONGC and the business-relationship advantage of the Hinduja Group in the hydrocarbon-rich West Asia, with business prospectivity benefits to both entities. Nepal polls in May-June next year: Deputy PM

New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) Elections to the Constituent Assembly in Nepal will be held in next May-June, Deputy Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli said today. ''The final dates are yet to be con firmed but the election schedule shall be in May-June 2007,'' Mr Oli, who is also Nepal's Foreign Minister and currently visiting India, told UNI on the sidelines of a function here. DPM Oli had earlier delivered the Ninth Dinesh Singh Memorial.....
