PUC student drowns in river Cauvery

Madikeri, Karnataka, Nov 3 (UNI) A PUC student drowned in river Cauvery at Nisargadhama resort near Kushalnagar in Kodagu district of Karnataka, yesterday.

Police said Arjun (16), a native of Murnad and studing here, went to Nisargadhama along with six friends. When they ventured into the river for a swim, Arjun was washed away in the currents. After failing in their efforts to rescue him, his friends lodged a complaint with the police station.

The body was yet to be fished out.

PVR Board approves issue of warrants to promoters

Bangalore, Nov 3 (UNI) The Board of PVR Cinemas, the largest multiplex operator in the country, has decided to issue 12 lakh warrants to promoters on preferential basis that would subsequently be converted into equity shares.
