Wipro registeres Rs 700 Crore profit during Second Quarter

Bangalore, Oct 18 (UNI) IT major Wipro Limited has registered a 46 per cent growth in profits on Year on Year (YoY) to Rs 700 Crore and the company's revenue has grown up by 41 per cent on YoY stood at Rs 3,546 Crores during the second quarter ended September 30.

Announcing the Second Quarterly results, Wipro Chairman Azim Premji said here todoay that "we believe that the focus we have on strategy and execution has continued to deliver robust results for the company. Our IT Services&Products business witnessed strong volume growth and operational improvements during our quarter ended September 30, 2006." Mr Premji said that "looking ahead, for the quarter ending December 2006, we expect Revenue from our Global IT Services&Products business to be approximately $ 633 million." MORE UNI MSP TS1140

DIG suspends SHO Banihal for illegal selling of kerosene

Jammu, Oct 18 : Jammu and Kashmir police has suspended the inspector Abdul Wahid Giri, incharge of Banihal police after a large scale illegal selling of kerosene oil in private shops was detected in a surprise raid.Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Udhampur-Doda range Lalat Indu Mohanty, ordered for the suspension and an inquiry against the SHO.The DIG during his surprise visit in Banihal found the tankers off-loading kerosene oil at Wagan and in private shops of.....

Zoramthanga rules out scraping Inner Line Permit

Aizawl, Oct 18 (UNI) Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga today ruled out the possibility of scraping Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state. Talking to newspersons, he said ''at present, my government does not have plans to scrap ILP.'' ''If we abolish the permits to outsiders, the state will be flooded with people within a year'', he said adding that such move would be considered suicidal. New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) A fresh western disturbance today threw up the possibility of rain and thundershowers in Delhi and other parts of Northwest India in the next few days.
