SP slams Centre for not providing financial help

Faizabad, Oct 18 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party today slammed the Centre for not providing any financial assistance for the the development of Uttar Pradesh.

On the occasion of distributing unemployment allowance and' Kanya vidya dhan, UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav here said SP led UP government was committed for developing the state into Uttam Pradesh with its own resources. Several development schemes are pending and the Centre is not sanctioning it.

''People would retort to those, who are not taking interest in the development schemes, ''Mr Yadav warned.

''The law and order situation in UP is better than other states as told by famous industrialists and others coming to the state.'' he added.

Mr Yadav further directed the commissioner to under take an immediate inquiry on the exclusion of poor girls of Ambedkarnagar district from the Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna and said that inquiry report should be submitted to him within three days.

''Any slackness or irregularity regarding this yojna would not be tolerated and stern action would be taken against the officers responsible for it'' the Chief Minister warned.
