SGNP thrashes Blooming Dales to lift Nehru Girls Hockey title

New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) Ritu Rani and Rani Devi again showed their penchant for goals and struck three goals apiece as SGNP Girls Senior Secondary School, Shahabad, pounded Blooming Dales School, Hissar, 7-1 to lift the 13th Nehru Girls Hockey Tournament here today.

For the winners, who led 3-0 at half time, Rajni opened the account in the seventh minute, after which Ritu (9th, 17th, 35th) and Rani (50th, 51st, 56th) ran riot in the Blooming Dales defence.

For the losers, Ruchika reduced the margin in the 31st minute.

In another match, Thenzawl Higher Secondary School, Mizoram, had to toil hard before taming Government Girls High School, Ranchi, 5-3 via tie-breaker.

After Lalremruati earned the Mizo team lead in the 21st minute, Emrencia Soy Murum scored the equaliser in the 31st minute to force the tie-breaker.

Titan Industries Q2 net up 56.21 pc

Mumbai, Oct 18 (UNI) Titan Industries Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 32.18 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, as compared to Rs 20.60 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, up by 56.21 per cent. Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 354.45 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, to Rs 524.06 crore for the quarter.....
