Pharmacy student dies under mysterious condition

Bhubaneswar, Oct 18 (UNI) Close on the heels of an agriculture student admitted to a hospital in a critical condition after alleged ragging, a pharmacy student here, died last night under mysterious condition, police today said.

Police said one Bijaya Kumar Maharathi,student of Indira Gandhi Institutes of Pharmaceutical Sciences died while being taken to a private hospital for treatment. His uncle had lodged an FIR at the Nayapali Police station alleging foul play.

Bijaya had complained of severe headache and stomach pain and was taken to the Capital Hospital from where he was referred to a private hospital but died on way.

Police said the student was staying in the hostel and yesterday all the hostel inmates had taken their lunch outside and returned to the hostel campus in the evening.

The boy's uncle also alleged that the doctors at the Capital Hospital did not admit Bijaya and onlu examined him casually before referring him to a private hospital.

Police have registered a case under 302 of the IPC and investigation was on.

AP Minister confirms 'rocket case' mastermind surrender
