Oppn threatens to stall ORR project

Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) Setting a deadline of October 31 for the Congress Government to announe compensation to those who would be displaced by the prestigious Outer Ring Road Project, TDP General Secretary K Srihari today threatened that major opposition parties would resort to direct action in November to stall the project.

Mr Srihari, who had brought the major opposition parties, including the BJP, TRS, CPI and CPI(M) under a common platform, told reporters here that the Government should give "land for land, plot for plot" taken away under the project at present market rate, as compensation to displaced persons.

''If the Congress Government fails to make an announcement in this regard by this month end, we will stall the work'', he warned.
