NCC air wing cadats of UT felicitated

Puducherry, Oct 18 (UNI) A team of NCC air wing cadets of the Union Territory of Puducherry (attached to the Tamil Nadu directorate) were today felicitated by the air wing officials here on their achievements at the 12 day all India annual "Vayu Sainik" camp held in Bangalore from October five.

Flying officer R Karuppusamy told newspersons that individual best pilot medal was bagged by P Prabhakaran, while a five-member team comprsing three boys and two girls emerged second in the overall flying competitions at the camp.

Altogether 600 cadets from all over the country and attached to 16 directorates participated in the camp.

A five-member team of Puducherry NCC air wing annexed the group gold medal in the line area competitions.

Oppn threatens to stall ORR project

Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) Setting a deadline of October 31 for the Congress Government to announe compensation to those who would be displaced by the prestigious Outer Ring Road Project, TDP General Secretary K Srihari today threatened that major opposition parties would resort to direct action in November to stall the project.
