As many as four district health teams have been formed to visit various villages and create awareness among the people about the disease and its symptoms.

He said teams have also been formed at the taluk level by the Health department to prevent and control dengue and chikungunya. No death was reported from any part of the district owing to dengue. All the primary health centres and district health centres in the district had enough medicine stock, he added.

He appealed to the public to follow the instructions of the Health department on taking precautionary measures and report any suspected case immediately to the PHCs for further action.
