Mehbooba to attend Pugwash conclave in Cairo

Srinagar, Oct 18 (UNI) People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti will leave here for Egypt in the first week of November to attend the 56th Pugwash conclave on Science and World Affairs.

A PDP statement here said opinion leaders from across the world would assemble at Cairo on November 10 to speak on the challenges facing West Asia.

For five days, the participants would discuss various aspects of peace and reforms in West Asia, a region in transition.

The statement said Ms Mufti would speak on ''Prospects for Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process'' at the conclave.

Though the Conference would focus on West Asia, it said on the sidelines, there would be a panel discussion on the Kashmir issue as well where participants from the state would put forth their viewpoints.

Sanofi bird flu vaccine may offer wider protection

Abkhazia asks Russia to recognise its independence
