Patna, Oct 18(UNI) That the Bihar Government is engaged in a serious mission to change the lot of the people through infrastructure development is the message which the government wants the media to dessiminate across the country.
They also want the media to reach out to the people the fact that media was providing basic civic amenities and that the state offered a level playing ground for setting up industries to attract investors.
A seminar was organised here with guiding theme that Bihar is on the right track now so far efforts for progress through development is concerned and the role the media can play in generating awareness among the people about the new 'people oriented approach' of the government.
The governmnet also wants to allay the apprehension of the people outside Bihar, particularly investors.
Reservation of 50 per cent of seats for women in panchayat bodies, adequate respresentation to backward classes, appointment of a land reform commmission as well as a separate commission for administrative reforms and coverage of all districts of Bihar under Prime Minister's Gramin Rojgar Yajana are some of the landmark decisions of the NDA government, he claimed.
The seminar was attended by Bihar Assembly speaker Uday Narayan Choudhury and eminent columnist Kuldip Nayar besides a host of lumaniries from the electronic and print media and university vice-chancellors, teachers and journalism students. Introducing the theme of the seminar, secretary in information and public relations department Vivek Kumar Singh outlined the approach of the government towards addressing the problems of the people.
