JVD to support Marandi in Koderma bypoll: Mandal

Jamshedpur, Oct 18 (UNI) Jharkhand Vikash Dal (JVD) president Suraj Mandal today said his party would support Babulal Marandi in the Koderma Lok Sabha bypoll to be held on November 6.

''As both the Congress and BJP have been reduced to parties of 'corruption', the JVD has decided to extend support to Independent candidate Mr Marandi,'' he said, adding that the bypoll would be crucial for Jharkhand as it would decide the next political course.

He said the JVD would join hands with the Jharkhand Vikash Morcha (JVM) of Mr Marandi to form a third front in the state.

Mr Mandal, who was here to attend a party convention, alleged that JMM president and Union minister Shibu Soren and chief minister Madhu Koda violated the election code of conduct as they used the state government's chopper for filing of nomination papers for the UPA candidate for Koderma seat.

He also alleged that Mr Soren had illegally occupied two houses- one in Ranchi and other at Bokaro as the ex-chief minister of the state and demanded legal action agasint the JMM supremo.
