TN: Jaya expels actor Radhika from AIADMK

Chennai, Oct 18: AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today expelled actor Radhika Sarathkumar from the primary membership of the party for functioning in ''contravention to party's principles and policies.'' She urged party cadre not to have any truck with Ms Radhika.

Ms Radhika's actor-husband Sarathkumar, however, continued to be an AIADMK member.

Mr Sarathkumar along with his wife had quit the DMK and joined the AIADMK prior to the Assembly elections held in May last.

Though Mr Sarathkumar had campaigned for the AIADMK in the Assembly elections, Ms Radhika who was heading a production house which produces television serials and game shows for Sun TV, a pro-DMK satellite channel, stayed away from active politics.
