Invited audience programme on DD channels

Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) Doordarshan Kendra will celebrate its 29th anniversary tomorrow with Dada Saheb Phaalke awardee Akkineni Nageswara Rao and actress Vanisree participating as guests in the invited audience programme.

The programme will be telecast on October 23 rpt October 23 on DD-1 at 8.30 hrs and the DD-Saptagiri channel at 2030 hrs, according to a Doordarshan press release.

Authorities deny permission for camel slaughter

Kannur, Oct 18 (UNI) A camel brought here from Rajasthan was sent to the neighbouring district of Kasargode after the authorities denied permission for its slaughter. The authorities denied permission for the slaughter after it was found that there was no proper slaughter house in the district. 32 absentee officials suspended in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 18 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government today suspended another batch of 32 officials in Ananatnag district for being absent from duty, an official spokesman said. District Development Commissioner Anantnag G A Peer placed the 32 officials under suspension for their unauthorised absence from duty during a surprise inspection of Achabal and Shangus blocks. The suspended officials include 14 employees of CDPO office in Achabal, 11 of BDO office in Achabal, six.....
