Government ready for on camera trial of Shahabuddin

Patna, Oct 18 (UNI) The Bihar government today informed the Patna High Court that arrangements had been made for on camera trial of cases related to controversial RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin, convalescing at AIIMS, New Delhi.

State Advocate General P K Sahi informed the single bench of Justice V N Sinha that after negotiation with the BSNL, MTNL and NIC, arrangements had been made to initiate the video trial. He said all the three undertakings had offered to help and the state government could place the order to any one of them.

Meanwhile, the RJD leader's counsel informed the court that Md Shahabuddin was recuperating after operation of his spinal cord and was expected to be discharged by month-end. The counsel requested the court to issue directive for resuming the trial of the concerned cases after Chhath festival.

The court fixed October 30 as the next date of hearing.

Earlier, on the directive of Patna High Court, the RJD leader was shifted to AIIMS from Siwan jail for treatment of his spinal cord ailment.
