Kozhikode,oct 18(UNI) former kerala minister and democratic indira congress(Karunakaran) rebel leader p sankaran"s house was attacked by unidentified assailants here last night.

police said the miscreance pelted stones at the malaparamba residence of mr sankaran damaging lamp posts and windowpanes.

prior to the attack his daughter who was present in the house, got an anonimous phone call threatening him against his proposed move to rejoin the parent congress party, police said.

KABUL, Oct 18 (Reuters) Fighting between NATO forces and Taliban guerrillas killed at least 20 civilians in southern Afghanistan, police and officials said today, the highest number of combat-related deaths in weeks.
