Essel Propack Q3 net down 25 pc

Mumbai, Oct 19 (UNI) Essel Propack Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 10.1 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 13.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, a fall of 24.62 per cent.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income has increased from Rs 69.1 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 to Rs 76.5 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006.

As per the Consolidated results, the Group has posted a net profit of Rs 26.7 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 23.3 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005.

Total Income has increased from Rs 210.2 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 to Rs 280.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006.

Constable opens fire; two injured

Pune, Oct 18 (UNI) Two persons were injured after police constable Murlidhar Sambhaji Chandgule opened fire from his service revolver over an altercation with a Chinese food cart owner late last night in Wanowrie area. The injured persons have been rushed to a nearby hospital and are reportedly out of danger, according to Wanowrie police. Gang selling endangered species busted

New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted a gang selling birds belonging to the endangered species and arrested two persons in this connection. The police also recovered a dead Brown Fish Owl, one live Owl and 100 birds from those arrested. Based on a tip off from the president of the raiding party of People for Animals in Delhi, the Delhi Police yesterday arrested one Raj Narayan, who had bought some Owls.....

Union Bank of India is serious over rise in its NPA level
