DIG suspends SHO Banihal for illegal selling of kerosene

Jammu, Oct 18 : Jammu and Kashmir police has suspended the inspector Abdul Wahid Giri, incharge of Banihal police after a large scale illegal selling of kerosene oil in private shops was detected in a surprise raid.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Udhampur-Doda range Lalat Indu Mohanty, ordered for the suspension and an inquiry against the SHO.

The DIG during his surprise visit in Banihal found the tankers off-loading kerosene oil at Wagan and in private shops of the surrounding areas of the region.

A total of 800 litres of kerosene oil had been off-loaded by the tankers in the private shops illegally.

Three persons killed in accident

Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 18: Three persons were killed and nine injured, when the Jeep in which they were travelling collided with a Van near Nayanipalli village here today.Police said three persons died on the spot.The injured were shifted to Anantapur Government Hospital. UNI.....

Thenucho flays Inter-Factional clashes

Kohima, Oct 18: Home Minister of Nagaland Thenucho yesterday said "ceasefire does not give the license to kill and those who have signed the ceasefire agreement should abide by it" while briefing media persons on the prevailing factional violence in Nagaland.Pointing out difficulties being faced by police while dealing with the situation unlike and 1964 ceasefire and the 1976 peace agreement, Thenucho said despite the current ceasefire agreements there was continued rivalry and killings among the rival NSCN factions. He said.....
