Detonators and explosives recovered

Hazaribagh, Oct 18 (UNI) Police today recovered 300 pieces of detonators, 30 kg of ID used for making explosives and 25 kg of ammonium nitrate from a house in Matbigha village under Chouparan police station area in this district of Jharkhand.

Police said these materials were generally used by the ultras for making explosives. No arrest has been made in this connection yet.

133 veterinary doctors to be appointed in K'taka

Bangalore, Oct 18 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has decided to appoint 133 veterinary doctors in the next two weeks, Animal Husbandry Minister Revunaik Belmagi said today. Talking to reporters here, he said there was a shortage of 837 doctors and the Government would soon come out with a fresh proposal to appoint 49 more doctors. 60 year-old man killed in chlorine leakage

Eluru, Oct 18 (UNI) A 60-year-old person and 15 cattle were killed, and 200 others hospitalised due to chlorine gas leakage from the cylinders of the chemical being carried in a vehicle which lost control at Gutala village this afternoon. According to police, the people in the village suffered from breathing trouble and vomitting while an agricultural labourer died due to suffocation. The mishap occurred when the lorry carrying the cylinders from a sugar.....

OIL pays Rs 168 crore to government

New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) The Oil India Limited (OIL) has paid an amount of Rs 168 crore to the Centre as the final tranche of dividend at 80 per cent for the financial year 2005-2006. The company had earlier paid first interim dividend at 110 per cent amounting to Rs 231 crore and a second interim dividend of 75 per cent amounting to Rs 157.5 crore during the year. The total.....
