Curfew relaxated in Gharsana Raola

Jaipur, Oct 18 (UNI) The district administration has relaxed curfew in the Gharsana township in Ganganager for one hour in the morning.

Curfew has also been relaxed in Raola.

In Gharsana, an hour long curfew relaxation was enforced from 0800hrs for people to purchase essential commodities.

The district administration called in troops and imposed a curfew in Gharsana and Raola yesterday after the one week long farmers agitation in the area demanding extra water from the Indira Gandhi canal turned violent. Troops also conducted a flag march today as the situation is limping back to normalcy.

Meanwhile, the lawyers of the city court struck work and took out a procession for the second day today in support of the farmers.

Punsup leads in paddy procurement in Punjab

Chandigarh, Oct 18 (UNI) Punjab's main agri purchase agency, Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation (Punsup) leads in the procurement of paddy in the state, having purchased 15.92 lakh tonnes out of the total 73.88 lakh tonnes so far, arrived in the 'mandis' till last evening. DD Kashir shifted back to Srinagar from Delhi

Srinagar, Oct 18 (UNI) Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today launched seven FM Rainbow India channels in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The channels were launched simultaneously from Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Poonch, Bhaderwah, Nowshera and Rajouri.
