Cong indulging in 'political vendetta': TDP leader

Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) TDP Spokesman K Sivaprasada Rao today claimed the ruling Congress was bent on 'scuttling' the voice of the Opposition by petitioning Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil to reopen an old case against him in the wake of the adverse court verdict in the Gouru Venkat Reddy clemency case.

Unable to face the TDP 'politically', the CLP had written to the Centre to reopen the bomb blast case even after the CBI could not find anything wrong after investigating the case for over two years and examining as many as 158 witnesses, he claimed.

The case was heard by the CBI Trial Court, High Court and the Supreme Court, he said claiming he was given a ''clean chit'' by the CBI.

Slovakia to pull troops from Iraq in February

IOC's corruption whistleblower Hodler dies at

ATHENS, Oct 18 (Reuters) Senior International Olympic Committee member Marc Hodler, who helped uncover the IOC's biggest corruption scandal, involving Salt Lake City and how it bribed members to win the 2002 Winter Olympics bid, has died in Switzerland, the IOC said today. He was 87. Hodler was the main whistleblower in the biggest corruption and bribery affair in the IOC' s 110-year history involving several of its members and Salt Lake City.....
