CBI court grants bail to V Sanu in SSLC question paper leak case

Kochi, Oct 18 (UNI) A special CBI court here today granted bail to Deputy Director of Education V Sanu, an accused in the SSLC question paper leak case.

Special CBI judge B Kamal Pasha granted bail to Mr Sanu on the condition of his furnishing a bail bond of Rs 50,000 with two sureties of the same amount.

The court also directed Mr Sanu to surrender his passport and appear before the investigating officer on every Wednesday.

The CBI had arrested Mr Sanu on October 13. In raids conducted on his house on October 15, the CBI had recovered Rs 200,000 and electronic gadgets like a digital video camera and DVD home theatre system.

The raids followed Mr Sanu's admission during interrogation that he had received Rs 280,000 from co-accused Rajan Chacko, who had got the contract to print the question papers of the SSLC exams from 2002-05.

Punsup leads in paddy procurement in Punjab
