Bare Acts should be made available at all districts HQs: HC

Mumbai, Oct 18 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today directed that Bare Acts be made available at all district headquarters.

A division bench, comprising justices R M Lodha and S A Bobde, passed the directions while disposing of a public interest litigation filed by Adv M P Vashi.

Adv Vashi had urged the court to pass necessary directions to assure that Bare Acts are available in all courts. He had also prayed that Marathi versions of the Bare Acts be also made available for the benefit of the lower courts.

The division bench observed that 937 courts across Maharashtra had been provided with the State Acts, Rules and Regulations and the same was also made available at all government book depots at Mumbai, Pune, Nasik,Aurangabad and Kolhapur.

Authorities deny permission for camel slaughter

Kannur, Oct 18 (UNI) A camel brought here from Rajasthan was sent to the neighbouring district of Kasargode after the authorities denied permission for its slaughter. The authorities denied permission for the slaughter after it was found that there was no proper slaughter house in the district. The owner of the animal did not possess proper license from the animal husbandry department, sources said. The authorities took action after the animal welfare.....
