Bajaj Auto Q2 net up 9.75 pc to Rs 317 crore

Mumbai, Oct 18 (UNI) Bajaj Auto Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 317.59 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 289.36 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, an increase of 9.75 per cent.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 2003.15 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 to Rs 2578.40 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006.

As per the Consolidated results, the Group has posted a income attributable to consolidated group of Rs 286.77 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 263.13 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005. Net Sales has increased from Rs 1969.57 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 to Rs 2538.86 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006.

Hindalco Q2 net jumps 90.43 pc to Rs 597 cr

Mumbai, Oct 18 (UNI) Hindalco Industries Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 597.6 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, as compared to Rs 313.8 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, an increase of 90.43 per cent. Announcing the results, the company said its total income has increased from Rs 2,752.1 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, to Rs 4,745.0 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006......

Sadhvi, three others held in disappearance case

Nagpur, Oct 18 (UNI) The police in Amravati today arrested Jain Sadhvi Siddhishri and three others in connection with her mysterious disappearance from the city earlier this week. Amravati Commissioner of Police Jagan Nath said Siddhishri, formerly known as Samata Babulal Khabia (21), had fled to her lover Rajnikant alias Rajjubhai Talwar's (27) residence in Sangli, from where she was brought to the city this morning. HC allows election of Exec Committee in Bachchan's Housing Society

Mumbai, Oct 18 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today allowed the appointment of an Executive Committee by election for the 60-year-old Vitthal Nagar Co-operative Housing Society where film actors Amitabh Bachchan, Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik Roshan, Danny Denzongpa, and producer Prakash Mehra reside. Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud directed the state to appoint an election officer within two weeks and conduct the election by December 31.
