AP Minister confirms 'rocket case' mastermind surrender

Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today confirmed the surrender of Srinivasa Reddy alias Raghu alias 'Tech Madhu, the main accused in the rocket launcher case.

Talking to newsmen here, Mr Reddy lauded the role of the police for bringing the accused to the book and said he would be interrogated to garner information on the case.

'Tech Madhu' and his wife Sudharai were on the run after the seizure of a huge consignment of rockets and launchers being transported into the thick forests adjoining Mahaboobnagar in September this year.

The couple had been living in Ambattur in Tamil Nadu since 2002 where 'Tech Madhu' was running an engineering unit. He was the brain behind manufacture and assembly of rockets and launchers, according to sources.

The Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu Police had launched a hunt for the elusive couple.

'Tech Madhu' and his wife reportedly surrendered in the remote Gudur Police Station in Warangal District, sources said.

The Home Minister said the police had been searching godowns of various transport offices as the rockets were found to be transported in public transport vehicles.
