Ahmedabad, Oct 18 (UNI) Ten people were killed and four others injured died when a truck in which they were travelling overturned at Bhawanipura Patiya on the Bagodara-Kheda highway.
The incident occurred late last night and the dead include two women and a child.
The passengers were tribal labourers who had boarded the truck carrying wheat bags at Wankaner on their way to Dahod. The truck from Rajkot was on its way to Kheda and had stopped at Wankaner to pick them up.
All the deaths occurred as the deceased were crushed under the weight of the wheat bags after the truck overturned.
So far one body has been identified as that of Ramanbhai Bilwa,30.
The injured include Ramanbhai's wife Kantaben, Kajubhai Ramanbhai, 2, Sandip Rana, 1 and Liliben Balasangh, 17.
The police have arrested driver who had fled from the spot. A case of accident has been registered.
